Happy Birthday PE McIntyre

Peter McIntyre progressed through the ranks at Essendon playing club cricket to make his debut for Victoria in the Sheffield Shield at the MCG in March 1989. A couple of years later he would spend some time at the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy eventually moving to play First Class Cricket for South Australia.

Peter was selected to play for Australia A in the controversial 1994/5 Series which featured Australia, England and Zimbabwe. It was this summer that he was selected to become Baggy Green 364 when he was selected for the Ashes Test at the Adelaide Oval.

Peter later had the opportunity to tour the sub-continent playing a Test against India dismissing Sachin Tendulkar.

One of the great summers for Peter was the 1995/6 summer winning the Sheffield Shield where his work with the bat proved to be invaluable.

His First Class career came to a close in 2002 having played 97 matches with 322 wickets to his name.

Today he celebrates his 55th birthday. We trust you will enjoy this episode of the Cricket Library Podcast with Peter McIntyre.
