ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Countdown – Aaron Wharton Interview

Aaron Wharton is the Community Engagement Lead for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup that will take place in Australia, which gets underway in Geelong on October 16 and culminates with the final at the MCG on Sunday, November 13.

NM Hauritz Australian u-19s Captain

Nathan Hauritz burst onto the International Cricket scene receiving a call up to the Australian team as a 20 year old after making an early impression playing for Queensland and Australia at u-19 level where he played alongside the likes of Michael Clarke, Ed Cowan, Mitch Johnson, Shaun Marsh, Shane Watson and Andrew McDonald.

He went on to represent Australia in 17 Test Matches claiming 63 wickets with career best figures of 5-53. Nathan also played 58 ODI’s also picking up 63 wickets with best figures of 4-29.

Hauritz was also more than handy with the bat scoring three half centuries for Australia and had a highest First Class score of 146 for NSW against South Australia in 2010.

Happy Birthday PE McIntyre

Peter McIntyre progressed through the ranks at Essendon playing club cricket to make his debut for Victoria in the Sheffield Shield at the MCG in March 1989. A couple of years later he would spend some time at the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy eventually moving to play First Class Cricket for South Australia.

Peter was selected to play for Australia A in the controversial 1994/5 Series which featured Australia, England and Zimbabwe. It was this summer that he was selected to become Baggy Green 364 when he was selected for the Ashes Test at the Adelaide Oval.

Peter later had the opportunity to tour the sub-continent playing a Test against India dismissing Sachin Tendulkar.

One of the great summers for Peter was the 1995/6 summer winning the Sheffield Shield where his work with the bat proved to be invaluable.

His First Class career came to a close in 2002 having played 97 matches with 322 wickets to his name.
