Priest Pounds A Hundred

Last week on the Cricket Library Weekly, Robbie Mackinlay boldly proclaimed that former guest and friend of the Library Rachel Priest would make her mark on this season’s WBBL competition featuring in the upper echelons of the run scorers list.

His suspicions proved to be very accurate with the Hurricanes skipper plundering the Melbourne Stars on her way to a destructive 107 off just 68 balls including 10 boundaries and 7 sixes.

Resident cricket librarian Matt Fiction was particularly impressed, penning this haiku poem in her honour.

Rachel was a very popular guest on the Cricket Library Weekly last year and you can hear her chat with Robbie Mackinlay here.

Hat trick on debut!

Nathan Ellis is a fine young player and all of us at the Cricket Library were thrilled to see him given the honour of representing Australia in T20 cricket.

Needless to say when he achieved the incredible feat of a hat trick on debut, our resident cricket librarian Matt Fiction was immediately working on a haiku poem to appropriately celebrate the achievement.

RL Haynes Retained As Thunder Captain

In some fantastic news for fans of the Sydney Thunder, Rachael Haynes has agreed to terms for another season with the reigning WBBL Champions. She was part of the inaugural Thunder WBBL team which won the WBBL|01 title and was the captain in their WBBL|06 victorious campaign.

She is the Thunder WBBL all time leading run scorer and will be looking to lead from the front again in WBBL|07.

Welcome back RL Haynes!

Jemimah Rodrigues fires for Northern Superchargers

The Northern Superchargers have claimed victory over the Welsh Fire largely due to the work of pocket rocket Jemimah Rodrigues who rescued the Supercharges innings with a magnificent display with the willow.

Celebrating the debutants

A hearty congratulations to JR Philippe, WA Agar and BR McDermott who have made their ODI debuts against the West Indies overnight.

Australia proved far to strong for the hosts with MA Starc and JR Hazlewood producing 61 dot balls between them and ripped through the heart of the West Indies top order.

Australia lead the series 1-0 after succumbing to a 4-1 series loss in the T20 series.

Resident cricket librarian Matt Fiction has penned a haiku poem in celebration of the three newest members of the Australian ODI team.

JP Inglis Take A Bow

Josh Inglis has been lighting up the Vitality T20 Blast with exceptional returns in the regular season of the competition.

The wicket keeper batsman from WA has been in career best form, plundering attacks to all parts of the ground.

He is one of many high quality wicket keeper batsmen in the domestic ranks at the moment and certainly reminding us all of his talents this English summer.

Universe Boss Goes Past 14000 T20 Runs

CH Gayle has gone past 14000 T20 runs and in the process helped the West Indies to secure a series win against the touring Australians. In a career spanning many years, the Universe Boss has dispatched some of the best bowlers on his way to the milestone.

Our resident librarian Matt Fiction has penned this haiku poem to commemorate this magnificent achievement.

An absolutely incredible achievement from James Anderson has seen him take career best figures and go past 1000 First Class wickets. Indeed a special day for the man himself and cricket as a whole.

Well done Jimmy Anderson!

To celebrate the achievement, our resident cricket librarian Matt Fiction has penned this stirring haiku poem.
